The Spring/Summer 2027 Men’s Shows Were as Hot as the Paris Heatwave
From Prada’s ultra-skinny trousers to Saint Laurent’s freaky PVC shoes, the boys turned up the heat.
Between a record heat wave and several designer debuts, men’s fashion week was full of surprises—and sweat.
Both Michael Rider and Sarah Burton put forward strong first menswear collections at Celine and Givenchy, respectively, while Simone Rocha showed her brand’s first-ever men’s collection and Jonathan Anderson unveiled his third collection for Dior Men. In Paris, Anthony Vaccarello went sheer and sharp at Saint Laurent, while Willy Chavarria presented “Comunión” with cameos from Romeo Beckham, Bella Freud, and Jordan Clarkson.
From slim cuts to barely-there shorts, take in the standout trends below.
The Skinny Revival
Oversize, puddling proportions are no longer the only game in town. Skinny silhouettes continued their comeback this season, with designers reviving aughts-inspired, Hedi Slimane-esque tailoring. Prada led the charge with ultra-skinny pants in denim and graphic jacquards, while Michael Rider debuted polished, slim-cut iterations at Celine.
Seeing Double
As the boundaries between menswear and womenswear continue to dissolve, designers are treating their collections as two sides of the same wardrobe. At Dior Men, Jonathan Anderson created a tattered wool Bar jacket that was a true doppelganger for the one shown at his cruise 2027 show in Los Angeles. And at Givenchy, Sarah Burton reimagined key women’s silhouettes from fall/winter 2026, including a sharp tuxedo with ballooning dress pants.
Belt Bags
The belt bag is shedding its tourist-era reputation. Celine’s signature flap bags were wrapped onto the waist with what looks to be twine, while Prada showed nylon pochettes that tucked neatly into belt loops. Belted, tied, and looped onto the body, bags became part of the outfit itself.
Heatwave Hedonism
From the leg-baring, super skimpy shorts at Dolce & Gabbana that seemed destined for a double take to the PVC, see-through oxford shoes by Anthony Vaccarello at Saint Laurent, the runways were filled with pieces that only make sense when temperatures soar. Heat makes people do crazy—and fashionable—things.
Summer Layers
Despite the record-high temperatures, however, extra layers remained firmly on the agenda. Ralph Lauren leaned into the season with colorful plaids and striped rugby shirts, while Willy Chavarria let double-stacked boxers, like the ones seen on Knicks player Jordan Clarkson, take center stage.
Soft Suiting
Occasion wear let its hair down for summer: Dior Men’s party-boy-inspired suits were cut away from the body, while Giorgio Armani embraced ease with linen sets featuring drawstring pants.
Formal Denim
As tailoring grows more relaxed, denim steps into territory once reserved for suiting. Pharrell Williams made the case for a structured, double-breasted coat and blinged-out denim, and Celine paired exposed-stitch denim pants with a burgundy coat and a pattern-clashing button-front shirt and tie.
